Roberto Manzin is officially the longest serving member of Unidentified Flying Project and the only surviving member of the cull of the initial 40+ musicians.

I was introduced to Roberto back in 2010, though I was already very well aware of his immense and profound catalogue of work. When we were putting together one of Simon Wood Harris’ first demos, Roberto came down to Wendyhouse Studios in Shepherds Bush and it was immediately obvious that he completely understood what Simon was trying to achieve.  Since then, Roberto has been an integral part of UFP.

Roberto’s career is underpinned and grounded by working with the amazing Tony Scott and from there has worked with the likes of Donna Summer, James Brown, Martha Reeves, Manu Katche, Zucchero, Jim Mullen, Trilok Gurtu, Jason Robello, Dennis Rollins as well as so many of the amazing Italian-based Jazz artists.

He has played and collaborated on over 100 albums and is a regular performer on the Jazz circuits in London and Berlin, where he is now based. Roberto has also put out four wonderful solo albums including his most recent in 2016 ‘LifeFlight’ which is an absolute joy.

Roberto plays on ‘Dance The Rain’, ‘There Is A Dream’, ‘The Reason’ & ‘Because They Say So
